Achievements

The achievements of Energyneighbourhoods are significant as it reached:

16 partners in 16 countries,

1400 neighbourhoods/communities across Europe,

14,500 European households,

savings in energy of 10% for the average household,

5,661,872 kWh of energy saved across Europe,

2,425 tonnes of carbon dioxide saved,

our winning Greek neighbourhood saved 65%,

our winning Irish neighbourhood were Emly saving 37%,

followed closely by Birdhill with a 31% saving.

 

The strong example and template set by this project could be followed by Governments across Europe reducing energy consumption, meeting their policy commitments, reducing human impact on the planet, extreme weather events and making our environments healthier.
