Prizes
Energy neighbourhoods has some excellent prizes.
There will be two rounds of the competition:
- 1st December 2011 - 30th March 2012
- 1st December 2012 - 30th March 2013
The Winning Neighbourhoods:
The Best Neighbourhood in Ireland from the two years (i.e the best neighbourhood) will be able to send 4 Representatives to Brussels (All expenses paid) for the European Award ceremony, where the best Neighbourhood in Europe will be recognised.
The winning neighbourhoods each year will recieve a cash prize of €1000. We would suggest you use it for having a meal or event for the neighbourhood, but it is entirely up to you how you spend. There will be seccond place prize of €300.
Remember that each household that saves 9% will save on average of €180 per annum on their energy bills. That is over €1000 for an average neighbourhood per annum.
Energy Masters:
Energy masters who complete the 4 months of monitoring with thier neighbourhoods will recieve €100 for their efforts... but only if they finish!
The energy master of the year - The person that makes the biggest effort, across blogs, meter readings, savings etc. will recieve a prize of €100.
Bloggers:
The best energy saving story of each year will recieve a €100 prize also.
The Best climate change challenge blog story for each of the challenges will recieva a prize of €100 per challenge.
